in this class, we learned about various methods of collection mapping: different schemes & representations, different theories that would help us with our research. as an exercise, my duo partner & i had to find visual metaphors to visualize/recontextualize the given collection, with the user group in mind. this meant that we had to represent the way the user group and the collection interact.
we also quickly brainstormed some ideas about the interface itself, what it would do/what it would bridge the gap between/what purpose it would serve.

we learned about how flowcharts work for machine learning, ie. how a robot would finalize a task, such as making a sandwich, through answering basic yes or no questions.
as an assignment, we were split up in groups of three, and we had to draft up an informational flowchart, which would steer a first-year student in a certain direction, helping them do something within the academy. our group got a student who needed to use the restroom, so we made a flowchart to help them navigate the academy in search for a restroom. we made a small color-coded legend, to help the user navigate through the flowchart easily.

during this class we discovered how user stories can help with developing the interface. user stories follow a simple & specific template which intends to identify a stakeholder, a task and a result they want to achieve. by speculating, we (as designers) can identify problems our user group faces and, therefore, can come up with solutions to them through the interface.
as an assignment, we had to come up with some speculative user stories based on our user group, which would help us develop ideas for the interface itself.
we also had to create a visual representation of one of the prompts/user stories, so we made a mock poster which resembles the municipality's design style.
